Early Career Opportunities are Citi's premier recruitment programs for freshman and sophomores. All around the world Citi offers variations of these opportunities that focus on identifying, mentoring and hiring top diverse talent for Summer Analyst Programs across the firm. In North America Citi offers Freshman Discovery Day (FDD), Early ID (EID), Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Innovation and Leadership Symposium and Citi's Sophomore Leadership Program (SLP). In our Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region we offer a Spring Insight Program. Each of these programs focus on bolstering the pipeline of diverse talent by providing early exposure and education to our business lines, technical training, mentorship and insight into the culture of Citi.

Freshman Discovery Day (FDD)
A virtual week-long exploratory program exploratory program designed to expose undergraduate freshman of diverse backgrounds to Citi’s culture and provide an introductory education on various opportunities across the firm.
Overview
  • Content includes business overviews, roundtable discussions, case study, networking and access to senior leaders
  • Designed for undergraduate Freshman who self-identify as Black, Hispanic and / Woman
  • Candidates are selected based on academic achievements, extracurricular activities and personal essay
  • This program serves as a pipeline for the Sophomore Leadership Program (SLP) and Early ID Program (EID)
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Innovation and Leadership Symposium
A virtual week-long exploratory program focused on identifying, mentoring undergraduate freshman and sophomores attending an HBCU.
Overview
  • Provides education and awareness to HBCU students
  • Includes career preparation related programming to help students create a roadmap for their careers
  • Teaches skills needed to succeed through the recruiting process
  • Provides an overview of banking, innovation and entrepreneurship, networking opportunities with various Citi businesses and senior leaders
Sophomore Leadership Program (SLP)
The Sophomore Leadership Program (SLP) is a premier early identification program that will feed into our other internship programs and ultimately our Full-Time analyst programs.
Overview
  • Begins with one week of robust training
  • Rotations within the Institutional Clients Group (Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory, Sales & Trading, Private Bank, and Treasury & Trade Solutions)
  • 1:1 mentorships with Junior and Senior employees
  • Citi sponsored events hosted throughout the summer
  • Participants participate in a Client summer project
Early Identification Program (EID)
A 5-week virtual development program focused on identifying, mentoring and hiring diverse talent for our Summer Analyst programs across the firm.
Programming includes:
  • Intensive interview preparation
  • One-on-one mentorship
  • Best-in-class training and webinars to include technical and professional, professional skills training
  • Opportunity to interview with Citi

Institutional Clients Group (ICG) Business Development is responsible for defining and articulating the ICG growth strategy; the ICG’s digital asset strategy; leading work with external partners to explore new opportunities for growth and to create new competitive advantages; driving ICG’s innovation efforts; and coordinating ICG’s existing venture capital investing activities.

ON THE JOB DEVELOPMENT
Summer Analyst Program - Undergraduate/Masters
One of the primary ways in which we identify the very best talent is through internships. These are paid programs aimed at penultimate-year undergraduate or Master’s degree students. Internships generally run for 10-12 weeks over the summer, with some countries offering opportunities at other times of the year. You’ll be exposed to a mixture of training, social events and professional experience. At the end of the internship, we offer the successful participants a full-time role, starting after graduation.
