Get Ready to Run The River 2023 in support of Teach First!

For the tenth year we will once again be supporting this iconic run. For 20 years, Teach First have been improving the life chances and choices for children facing the biggest challenges. That’s why Teach First need your support this September at Run the River.

Take on an unforgettable 5km or 10km route in London with 3,000 fellow runners and help every child fulfil their potential.

Sign up 

Register below and then you can select ‘In-person event 5km’ or ‘In-person event 10km’. Your registration fee covers your event entry including access to the event village with an unmissable atmosphere, your timing bib, technical running t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and goodies as you cross the finish line.

Support any way you can

Donate at checkout or set up a fundraising page to support Teach First. Every pound raised will help ensure more young people are able to reach their full potential. Let your friends, family and colleagues know you’ll be taking part and get their support.

Join us on event day

Head to Potter’s Fields Park, London, on Tuesday, 19 September. You’ll be allocated a wave with a staggered arrival time, starting from 6:00 p.m. You and your fellow runners will be cheered over the finish line and receive your finisher’s medal.

 

Not based in London? Select the virtual run option to choose your own 5km or 10km route.

Register below and then you can select ‘Virtual 5km’ or ‘Virtual 10km’. Sign up for £15 as a UK-based runner or £19 if you’re based overseas. Your registration fee will cover the costs of the event including your technical t-shirt and finisher’s medal.

Donate at checkout or set up a fundraising page to support Teach First. Every pound raised will help ensure more young people are able to reach their full potential. Spread the word and get friends, family and colleagues involved. 5km or 10km. Any route. Any ability. Anywhere in the world. It’s that simple.

3.

Plan your route

Choose your own 5km or 10km route. Run by a local beauty spot, past Buckingham Palace, through Times Square, or up and down your garden. It's up to you!

4.

Log your run

Track your run between Monday 18 – Sunday 24 September using your preferred running app or fitness device. Log it through Teach First’s portal to see where you stand on the leader board. To make things even easier, when you sign up you can link your Strava or Garmin account to your registration so your virtual race result will be automatically uploaded to the leader board.

5.

Receive your medal

All virtual finishers for Run the River 2023 will get their medal in the post. Don’t forget to share photos with Teach First on social media @TeachFirst (Twitter) and @TeachFirstUK (Instagram) using the hashtag #RunTheRiver, or through their Run the River Strava group.
